Carbon steel

About craft and material

Carbon steel is a special type of steel that has a high concentration of carbon. There are several advantages to this steel over its traditional counterpart. One of them is increased strength which is achieved by the carbon shuffling around its crystal lattice. While carbon steel can still stress and break under pressure, this is less likely to occur than with other types of steel. This makes it particularly effective in applications where strength is needed.

We use galvanised carbon steel which improves the durability of our products and makes them more resilient to adverse weather conditions. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to form a type of skin. We use this method to create a hard surface finish that is tougher than any conventional paint.
